Albariño 2022

Vineyard: Evergreen Vineyard, Ancient Lakes AVA

Vineyard Manager: Ryan Flanagan

Blend: 100% Albariño

Vinification: Handpicked grapes were whole cluster pressed to obtain the highest quality juice possible. Fermentation was conducted in stainless steel barrels and neutral French oak barrels. Each barrel is a small fermentation that brings complexity to the finished wine when all barrels are blended for bottling. The wine was sur lie aged 3 months in barrels prior to blending and bottling.

Cooperage: Stainless steel barrels & neutral French oak barrels

Bottled: January 2023

Production: 120 cases

Winemaker Notes: Albariño is a Spanish grape that makes refreshing and highly aromatic wines in Spain and Portugal. This Washington rendition is no exception. Aromatic with notes of citrus, yellow apple, and white blossoms. The palate dominates with citrus and tropical flavors, all backed by a bright acidity and a touch of effervescence. We have been in love with Albariño from our very first vintage produced in 2012. It has been one of our best sellers and this newly released 2022 vintage is sure to please!

Winemaker Notes: I love making wines from the Ancient Lakes AVA. These wines always have vibrant aromatics and refreshing fruit. Don’t let this lightly colored rosé fool you; it is packed with aromas of wild strawberry, rose petal, watermelon, a touch of pink grapefruit and wet stone. On the palate fresh flavors of strawberries, raspberries and citrus are wonderfully framed with a nice acidity. The wine is light and refreshing but has layers of complexity.
